Welcome to the Prince of Wales, the village pub in the city centre.
We are a small and cosy family run Public House with a wide selection of food and drink with entertainment 6 nights a week.
Our New Menu has been carefully put together to put health at the centre of our selection. Popular Old English and International Dishes are prepared and cooked from scratch allowing us to put Locally Sourced Fresh Fruit, Vegetables, Herbs and Spices as well as Fresh Meat and Poultry at the forefront of every dish we serve you. One Calorie cooking spray will be used instead of Oils and Fats. Lean Meats with very low fat content are prepared from our butcher and you have the option to substitute dishes which include Chips for a Side Salad or Vegetables, it is really up to you.
Steakhouse Chips are cut thicker which is better for you as they absorb less Oil. Our Steakhouse Chips are Deep-fried in Rapeseed Oil. Rapeseed Oil is celebrated for its health benefits as it has less unhealthy saturated fat than all other cooking oils and fats. It is also high in mono-unsaturated and poly-unsaturated fats omega 3, 6 and 9, so can help you maintain healthy cholesterol levels as part of a healthy balanced diet – beneficial for heart health. And it is a rich source of vitamin E.

Sugar is currently another big factor which contributes to obesity, so No Sugars are added to any dishes on this menu.
When you order your food at the bar with your beverages, it is recommended that you drink 8 pints of water a day. Still or Sparkling Water is available or there is free tap water to take with you. So when you order your Wine, order some Water too.
I will be happy to discuss any method with you regarding how the dishes are prepared and cooked and I’m happy to share any recipes with you should you wish to try them at home.

Our dishes are Low in Fat, and Packed with Nutrients. Dressings on Salads are 0% Fat Free.
